Job Summary
Assign and control all work of a Building Service nature. To ensure compliance with all applicable codes for all employees under his/her direction.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$27.25 per hour
Required Qualifications
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Three (3) years of experience in building custodial work.
3. Valid driver's license.
4. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Knowledge of Building Service materials, methods, and procedures.
2. Must be able to follow written and verbal instruction.
3. Knowledge of cleaning solutions and custodial methods
4. Supervisory ability
5. Ability to read and write work-related communications, reports, etc.
Work Hours
Shifts vary; days off to be determined on hire
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Ability to walk and stand for 6-8 hours per day.
2. Ability to lift 35 lbs.
3. Ability to push/pull up to 80 lbs.
4. Ability to bend, stoop, twist; ability to climb ladders and stairs; ability to work above shoulder level for extended periods of time; ability to work around dust, fumes, and environmental irritants.
Performs Building Service work during training, including such tasks as mopping, sweeping, and scrubbing floors, cleaning and waxing floors, and collecting and disposing of refuse.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.
